LGI's Approach to
Classifying Brand Models
For each watch brand
(55+) tracked by LGI the individual SKUs that represent meaningful sales
activity are required to be classified by specific characteristics such as
gender, case material, diamond treatment, case shape and other relevant
parameters. The classification of these watches are critical to Time Tracker™
since it ensures that the overall market projections are developed based on the
proper model characteristics that make up the industry. Both subscribing and
non-subscribing brands are encouraged to classify their own models. Currently
brands representing over 75% of the fine watch market on a dollar basis are
classifying their own models through the Time Tracker™ Product Catalog SKU
update module (see example below). Brands that configure their own models also
have access to LGI's Product Catalog team to assist them in this process as
needed. Models from brands that decide not to participate in the classification
process are updated monthly by LGI professionals.
LGI maintains a model
configuration rate of greater than 80% of all models on a dollar basis for
brands being tracked by Time Tracker™ to ensure that Time Tracker properly
represents the market and to allow participating brands and retailers access to
model level statistics which include SKU characterization parameters. This
process is conducted monthly with the monthly processing of incoming data from
retailers.
